Late Arrival & Game Turnback Policy
Thank you for your continued service to the game of soccer, its players, and to the South Coast Referee Association (SCRA).

Punctuality Expectations
Referees are expected to arrive on the field at least 30 minutes before the scheduled kick-off time for all accepted assignments.
If you will be late, you must call or text your referee team (partners) to advise them of your status.
If an emergency occurs and you cannot make the game (e.g., auto accident), you must text your partners and the assignor as soon as possible.

SCRA Tardiness Policy
The SCRA policy regarding repeated lateness is as follows:

First Instance
-
Verbal or written warning and a reminder of the punctuality policy.

Second Instance
-
Verbal or written warning and a reminder of the punctuality policy.

Third Instance
-
Warning and reminder, plus a fine equal to one-half (½) of the game fee for the game you were late to.

Fourth Instance
-
Reminder and a fine equal to one-half (½) of the game fee for the game you were late to.
-
To remain eligible for future SCRA assignments, you must attend a hearing before the SCRA Board within 90 days.

Game Turnback with Extenuating Circumstances
We value your commitment and recognize that unforeseen situations do occur. If there are extenuating circumstances, and you are able to fulfill your game assignments, you must notify the association in advance whenever possible.

Waivers may be granted for legitimate situations such as:
-
Medical emergencies
-
Family emergencies

We also understand that sudden work requirements, urgent business travel, or unexpected family obligations may arise. However, to maintain a professional referee organization and serve our leagues effectively, assignments must go to referees who can be relied upon to arrive on time and fulfill their commitments.
